Who would have seen this coming? I certainly did not. Bought for the purpose of training and racing. Reality is that I continue to struggle with and long-term injury. I have been running with it in my head for months and am tired of waiting. Meanwhile, I also spent a lot of money on "specialists," and with none of them I really had a good feeling. Then it stops somewhere.

* Snoek n°43
* Color is signal yellow with black accents (hood & fin)
* Racehood
* Fin (model A)
* Daniel Fenn chainring 70-T
* Powerpedals Vector 3
* Set to my length (1,79m)
* 2* mirrors
* 70 mm brakes
* 150 mm cranks
* CCS at the front (28-406), 28" GP 5000 at the rear
* Work hatch with deeper bulges
* Basic light equipment (B&M IQ-X 150 Lux with dimming mode (120g) )
* Battery standard: Li-Ion 12V 5Ah 55.5Wh (230g) + charger
* Shimano XT 1x11-speed 11-36

I put the price at 11 000 for now. That may be a lot, but the pedals aren't cheap either. And I also don't think there are many Snoek velomobiles for sale, so those of you who want one, you already know one. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say about this bike. Is just in perfect condition and ridiculously fast. Price is fixed by the way, not negotiable.

Topic may be closed. Decided too quickly and emotionally. I am going to regret otherwise, so I'll keep the Snoek. Sorry!

My Snoek goes on sale again. I made this choice because of tightened legislation here on roads where I train (has been on the Belgian news last week) specifically the towpath. A speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour applies here basically everywhere, although cyclists and electric bikes do not really care, until something happens. The problem with the Snoek is that the difference is just too much, at 55 km/h you are often already riding 20 per hour faster than the average cyclist. An M5 CHR just seems like the better choice to me. With the surplus money, I would like to buy a cheaper racing bike to train more on Zwift again. I don't have the luxury of having both a Snoek and an M5 CHR. With that M5 I also want to go on more training holidays in Spain in the future. Price is negotiable, but set at 11K. By the way, for the moment I still train with the Snoek, even today I went for a nice ride (109 kilometres).

The purpose of riding efficiently to work or cyclists who want to train in a targeted way is negated by stupid government decisions. The towpath can be compared to the motorway in the case of cars. Only they make it accessible to everyone, a big mistake in my view. People going for walks with their families, people with dogs, cyclists just enjoying a ride on their bikes and taking up the whole path. Ironically, people often point to racing cyclists who take up the path in large groups. Ordinary people on bikes do the same, as this photo I took today shows. I don't understand why electric bikes (or velomobiles) that aren't allowed to go 45 km/h on these paths. Today I did not encounter many cyclists on the Snoek, though you are supposed to ride 30 at all times. Today there was another mother cycling with her child. The little one rode all the way to the left against traffic at a snail's pace and abruptly stopped in the middle. Well. But hey, that guy with the Snoek that's the dangerous guy! Lol.

Hello

I cannot presume to write what other people should or should not do.
I would just like to point out that one could ride with the Snoek due to the conditions and possibilities also very well on the road / country road in traffic, if I look at the speed and the performance values so. Of course, this is not safe on bike paths or roads to drive at 50-XXkm / h.
I would just like to mention that from my own experience and point out to let certain things go through your head again. Not that you regret at the end of the decision which one has made and implemented. In the video of you, where you drive withe the red and white Snoek to the test, you can see more than clearly the grin through the hood.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this.

PS: Also, I like to watch your and this kind of videos, even if I have deleted myself from Youtube for a few years (enters 2007 and several million clicked videos in terms of cars and motorcycles) and currently do not make videos anymore.

PSPS: From Belgium to Aldenhoven to the Oval it is also only about 160km. :D

It all depends where you live and what your intentions are. I bought the velomobile to train and race, not to commute. Targeted training is simply impossible, outside on Zwift. The segments on Strava by Stephan, Ruben or Kid Karacho, is not at all feasible in Belgium. The roads are too bad, or there are far too crowded. With the M5 CHR, I could ride more of an acceptable speed, and much more agile. Certain bends I can't take with the Snoek after which I have to detour and lose time. Not so bad in itself because the it makes up for all that lost time on the long straights. But in terms of safety, I feel a lot less safe in it than on the M5. Here, I often ride behind low bushes so I can't see what's happening on the street at all. Yes, I can drive on the street but to get there I have to pass that bush first. I don't actually have to draw a picture of it I guess. The velomobile is a perfect mode of transport if you are able to travel fast and efficiently on quality good roads where you don't have to consider speed limits. Recently, someone told me that I am allowed to ride on the road in Belgium within the built-up area anyway. Yes, and what good is that? I then find myself riding among busy city traffic, how can I train there? Totally impossible. And once outside the built-up area, the velomobile belongs on the cycle path again. In hindsight, I should always have stayed with the M5, unless I would live somewhere where I can really make use of the full potential of a velomobile.

10500€ without power pedals. People who ask me what my minimum price is, I will respond with "what is your highest bid"? ;) So you can save yourself the trouble..

For those who are interested, the Snoek still has guarantee, until 17/11/2024, it doesn't matter if the velomobile changes to another owner.
On frame breakage, velomobiel.nl gives longer warranty up to 5 years. They look at how the bike has been used, but are very reasonable about it.

I am also willing to deliver the Snoek in person for an additional cost of €150 (distance maximum 500 kilometres). I think this is a very reasonable proposal.

By the way, thanks @BorisD for still pointing out the difference between warranty and guarantee, I would sometimes look over it.;)

Ich verstehe das nicht, eine neue gelbe Snoek wurde am 2. Juni bestellt.
(Snoek L Bestellungen gibt's da noch nicht)

Vielleicht mal bei Velomobiel.nl nachfragen ob er Interesse hat?

Velomobiel.nl needs to make a profit on it too. They have told me that a velomobile drops in value quickly. So I'll just keep riding it for now. CCU tyres are installed today with Ginkgo latex tubes. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's ride. A friend helped me a little. And the tyre glider is an amazing tool.

Ah before I forget, I keep the price at 9500€, yes I know, that's rather strange. But people who ask me privately if I can drop the bike off in Germany, only to break down the configuration afterwards and try to drop the price further will be blocked in the future. You have people who test a bike when interested ( like myself), and you have those who aren't decisive and continue asking a million questions without getting to the point. Please, go test ride it at a dealer and leave me alone. Thanks.

Doesnt have Velomobiel.nl a fixed prices for selling velomobiles from customers anymore? I thought they offered that possibility in the past. 250 euro or so, including to adjust it to the right size for the buyer.

A velomobile offcourse drops in value, but in the past used ones have been more expensive then a new one because of the delivery times. I can understand that someone who doesnt want to wait will buy yours if that one is direct available at velomobiel.nl

Yes, velomobiel.nl has proposed to stick a price together on my Snoek, and for a 250€ they are selling the bike for me. The problem with that is that I can't use it for the time being. Most people are familiar with the German forum and ligfiets.net That's where my velomobile is listed, so I assumed that's enough.

Despite having lots of fun with the Snoek it remains for sale. This Saturday the bike will get a service/check. Those who still want to bid, preferably via PM, thanks.

I will drop the price to 8500€. For that, you also get an extension tail with it worth 150€. I am even willing to add my vector 3 power pedals for free.

The Snoek remains great, I can't say anything negative about it. I'm still planning to make some cool videos with it. The choice of sale actually remains a combination of several factors. Not that it is anyone's business, but financially I have not had it easy lately either. I still hope to arrange a hot and rich wife some day (or win euromillions). :rolleyes:
