This week I went to a chiropractor (because of my injury), who determined that my left and right sides do not function the same. By doing certain tests (including an HRV test that tests energy and recovery), things went a little better after that. According to an HRV test, an athlete (or anyone who does sports on a weekly basis) should often reach between 90 and 100%, if you never exercise or are in bad shape, you come out between 46 and 55%. Well, I am at 51% and still cycle weekly and go to the gym 3 times/week (?!). I should now continue cycling slowly and not stretch too much. I have often read about stretching that this is even worse when you are injured, because you just stretch certain muscles too much. Now you may be asking yourself, what is this supposed to do in this post? Well, even if I'm riding around at 35%, of which I can't actually use 1 leg, I beat all cyclists with ease. Especially when they have wind against them, you notice an absurd difference, no matter if they ride in group. And that's where the Snoek is phenomenal. With the Milan SL I often rode at 40 km/h in summer, and this was just basic training. With the Snoek, I ride the same speeds in winter even when I'm injured. I am jealous when I see Stephan and Ruben who can just keep on training and come off with great figures, but most of all can cycle injury-free. Hopefully I can start training a bit heavier again soon too, because I didn't buy the Snoek to keep training my basics (although that's actually best during cold temperatures). Snapshot is from my latest video, which will come online soon.
