The QV has a Bolt in the hingepoint that can be thightend. I had a motorcycle visor with an "indexed" hinge mech. It had some kind of ratchet like mechanism. That worked very well, the visor firmly stayed in position, where ever you put it. Also that visor did not rattle as much as the thin Lexan one on the Milan does.
The Milan has a bolt for hinge, that uses a big plastic nut, that you can twist thighter or loose. Something like this.

I'm not quite sure what keeps the bolt from turning, and sometimes it does turn when you turn the nut. To make the flexy visor move, i need to untighten and retighten. The left one with my right hand, right one with left hand. Not as practical. The visor rattles quite annoying, it is just to thin and flexible and rattles against the hood. I only ride with the hood with roof and visor in winter, in summer i prefer to ride with just a lid and a built on see tru visor edge.
Such a factory visor mech works very well, downside is u need to drill a small hole and mount a nut and bolt in the visor to have a pin to pull it down with. I just bought a cheap visor with its mech at a motorcycle store that sells parts as well. That mech part is quite big about 2 inches. So you get a blindspot just like a car's A pillar. I had trouble building a properly symetrical shaped front bit on the hood of my Plywood vm, so that's why i abbandoned the hood with visor. How did you make yours?
p.s. the QV uses a motorcycle visor as well, wich is much ticker and more stable than the Milan version, wich is probably less than half as thick. I think it uses a washer, perhaps a nylon one, in the hinge, but i am not very sure.
