Quietschende Trommelbremsen

I take it off anyway for pumping it before a ride. so it makes no difference in effort if I take it off just before pumping or right after arriving.
It's trivial to take the wheel off (I have a tuna)

Here it's only if there gets water into the brakes.
Be careful with braking then because that brake also will not brake properly, it will slip over the water. So you will brake only on 1 side and the velomobile may pull to that side.
Thats BS.

Like several other forum members, I've tested and used water cooled drum brakes and it takes only three or four wheel rotations to have even higher braking force than before.
If there is water still in it when you park, the water can not get out and the brake drum and internals may rust. This can lock your wheel solid. Better take the wheel off and let it dry.
Thats BS as well.

Any water that finds its way into the drums will flow relatively freely through the labyrinth seal out of the drum brake.
I now always take the front wheels off after a ride
To say this is unnecessary, would be a huge understatement. Dude, you're nuts!
