My carbon Milan 4.2 build

I need to remember this terminology for if I ever need to say "my girlfriend is getting fat"

Another fun way is to say 'she's too short for her weight' ;)

However, maybe it's advisable to invest in one of these if you have to sit in a small enclosure together with me putting out ~200W average for 200 km:

@Kullie I was also thinking this, but that doesn't seem to explain why another cable crosses underneath it

This is with the ledstrips turned on only.
With the projectors on it's even brighter.

What I really love is how the lights illuminate the flanks of the nose. This makes the bike super visible at night. And when riding you don't notice it yourself; the top is not illuminated (otherwise it would blind you).

Same effect for the tail now; they illuminate the side of the tail. I'm very very happy with these Ali-Attos. The have a built-in IC that cuts the power to the normal red + brake light when indicating! So I don't even need to do any magic with relays or ESP32...

So, that plastic part is epoxy'd to the inside of the body.
The mirror sits on top.

The round hole is for M6 bolt to fasten the mirror, and the lower slot arc is for an M4 to lock the angle adjustment of the projector beam.

There's 4 electrical connections per mirror:
Projector beam, daytime running lights, indicator and ground.

I can remove the mirrors without undoing any electronics, as the connection is magnetic with springloaded pogo-pins.

I made these for my SnoekL, when I started racing; to be able to pull them off quickly, and reinstall with all electronics intact.

But I think they look better on the 4.2 than they did on the SnoekL.
The mirrors themselves are adjustable; they swivel up/down and left/right inside their housing on a balljoint.


I made slightly slimmer ones later, without the projector in it but with the LEDstrip. Those are still on the QV-Limo

On this photo they are slightly less bright: these are behind a printed lens.

The ones on the 4.2 have clear UV-stabilized epoxy over the ledstrips: crystal clear.

I guess it would be very hard to offer a pair of these 3in1 mirrors at a price point under €600, though. Considering the small batch numbers, it'll be probably closer to €800/pair. Maybe even more...

But indeed, the issue is the amount of time involved with making a set. And then it also requires making slots in the body shell...!
I'm sure not many will be willing to do so (let alone be able to do it well). And then do the wiring...

Yeah. The VM-dealers could do it, but that would add to the cost for the customers. (I wouldn't even consider the manufacturer)
 
Exactly, I think a set would easily have to cost hundreds of euros, just for the labour involved (including the machining + glueing of the connectors into the body and then the wiring...).

(I added the word 'obvious' to my last post, I did get it)

If there really are people interested in having these installed at the price point Marc also mentioned, let me know. For 800 euros per set, I may consider doing it. But that's simply a very big sum of money. And they're still 3d-prints, so if you bump into them badly they do break...
(a replacement shell would cost less, but still require the clear epoxy coating/casting of the LED-strips, which takes (me) a lot of time).

If someone would then still want them, I'll do all of it myself, including installation into the bike of the buyer.
Because I do not want to first teach someone else how to do it (that would take many, many hours itself!), and then still be nervous about the quality of the final result.
